Rock on!

The beauteous Kai at The Buzz Queen awarded me a Rockin’ Girl Blogger award – me! Can you believe it! She said this about me: “Never have I ‘met’ a more genuine lady. Her love of her husband and family virtually leap off the pages of her blog! And if you’re very lucky, you’ll be blessed to be her blogging buddy. She is caring, articulate, brave, and I can only imagine what a true friend she must be in real life.”

Little did I know that at the same time, Sandee at Comedy+ was awarding me with the same award on the same day! Huh. Imagine that. Anyway, here’s what Sandee had to say about me: “Another favorite visit each day is Desert Songbird @ The Ice Box. I love the stories about her children, the history of her family and her travels. In her profile she describes herself as a mom, wife, singer, and jill-of-all-trades. I truly think she has them in order of appearance. She also likes eye-candy and from time to time she will post something very yummy. It's in good taste though.”

So now it falls to me to pick my own Rockin’ Girl Bloggers, and since I was awarded this twice, I get to pick ten lucky ladies! If you get tagged, grab the pretty badge up top (because you deserve it!) and then list five women bloggers who are 'TOTALLY ROCKIN.’

And now, in no particular order, I present my choices for Rockin' Girl Bloggers:

1. Izzy at IzzyMom. When I first starting blogging back in October, I came across Izzy by chance. I saw that she had legions of faithful readers, and I quickly found out why. Happily married, Izzy is mom to a charming school-aged daughter and adorable toddler son. She is intelligent, strongly opinionated, and fiercely devoted to her children. She’s also a very talented graphic artist. She’s won numerous blogging awards, and if you read her, you’ll see why.
   

2. Another Desert Rat at Notes from a (Mostly) Dry Place. I pick Desert Rat not just because she is one of my best friends, but because she has so much to say. Another intelligent, articulate, humorous woman – can you stand it? She works a very challenging job, spends weeks on end away from home (living in a motel) and still manages to maintain an optimistic outlook on life. Married to the delightfully laid-back Geo, she has no children but is a favorite “auntie” to my two young ‘uns.
   

3. Starrlight at Here Comes a Storm…In the Form of a Girl. Starrlight is wonderfully quirky, slightly wicked, and always entertaining. Supremely knowledgeable about music, her posts are like an invitation to a party. A single mom, I suspect her daughter has inherited Starr’s rapier wit and savvy.
   

4. Sanni at Coffee2Go. Sanni is design talented, empathetic, funny, and sexy without being raunchy. Mom to the cherubic Luis, (and human mommy to The Furry Diva, Jersey), Sanni appears to “do it all” while maintaining her charm and sanity.
   

5. Neila at Blog that Mommy! Hilarious and naughty, Neila is wife to Eric and mommy to the captivating Eli and the effervescent Georgia. Neila’s stories of motherhood will leave you shaking your head, gasping in wonder, and wiping away tears from laughter. Oh, and she has a fascinating home-based business. Go check it out…
   

6. Local Girl (Kailani) at An Island Life. Wife, mother, flight attendant, talented blogger, Kailani is beautiful, educated, articulate, funny, and charming. She hosts contests and blog carnivals, and never ceases to amaze me with how she keeps it all together while working and being a mom. Despite balancing so much, it’s clear what her top priority is – her family. Her love for her husband and her cherished daughters is obvious.
   

7. Turnbaby at And As the World Turns. A fellow occupant on Bond’s Big Leather Couch, Turnbaby knows what she loves in life, and she’s not bashful about telling you what those things are. This Southern lady is a talented writer, and I suspect, a savvy lawyer as well. Another music lover, she also digs NASCAR and lazy days on the beach.
   

8. Janna at The Jannverse. Quirky, eccentric, hilarious – need I say more? Lean waaaay over, tilt your head to the side, and you might catch a glimpse of how Janna views the world. She’s musically and graphically talented, and a friend in real life to Mo at It’s a Blog Eat Blog World, Lee at Lee’s Labyrinth, and Steven at Get Your Blog On! Go check her out. Currently sweltering in the Michigan heat, she’d welcome some new visitors. Just remember to bring your own air conditioning.
   

9. Anndi at Anndi’s Luggage. I found the lovely Anndi through Bond at The Big Leather Couch. This French Canadian is a music fiend, adept at finding the most hilarious videos, and compassionate and kind. A single mom, she adores her daughter and is loyal to her friends. Oh, and she’s a luggage and shoe fiend, too!
   

10. Trish at 1, 2, 3 Duck! One of my Project 365 pals, I included her here because her photographs are wonderfully evocative. She pays close attention to composition, detail, and lighting. With her photos, words often are not needed.
