Circumstance Beyond Our Control

Seems like everyone is saying this lately, but I'll say it as well because it's true - I've been a bad blogging buddy lately. I had my Google Reader down to ZERO new posts a couple of days ago (can you believe it!!!????), but now it's up to 82. Sigh. I can only plead laziness. I've done some blog surfing and commenting here and there, but life keeps getting in the way. If it's not helping with homework, it's running to this or that lesson/practice/class or fixing someone something to eat.

I appreciate all of the positive comments everyone gave me about the bed wetting situation. I wish my son would use Good Nites (the big boy Pull-Ups), but both he and his dad think that would be a "step backwards" since Little Man hasn't used them since last summer. Of course, they are not the ones washing the sheets every other day. Oh well.

The school battle continues; the parents have waited for the "due process" to occur, and nothing is being resolved through channels. District keeps referring us back to the prinicipal who refuses to do what she should. The parent "activist" group will be meeting shortly, and we are now going to the state department of education since the district and the governing board are foisting us back down (as per "due process") and no resolution has occurred. Next, we will also discuss how to make this public through media channels. Stay tuned.

Quick note on Greg: Several of you have e-mailed me and asked me how he likes his new job at the other school. He says the job is relaxing in that none of this garbage is going on there; the staff is friendly enough, too. The school building itself, however, is very institutional and off-putting, and the students are a bit whiny and childish.

I got an e-mail from my nephew Jason. He got my package of cookies that included the notes from some of you. He was quite pleased with those, and asked me to thank you all for your support.

I received some blog bling recently, but it was long enough ago that I don't rememer who bestowed one of these on me or for what reason. I think this is the Wonder Woman award (or something like that). If you gave this to me, please comment and let me know the whys and wherefores so that I can pay it forward. Thanks!

Then, most recently, I received the Colors of Friendship award from first Kila and then Sandee and then Mimi. Wow! How blessed I am that these incredible woman consider me a blogging friend. I'm going to think on this one and then announce my honorees later.

Be The Blog award

Dawn down in The Big Easy (a teacher - yay for teachers!) awarded me with this you see above. Mark from Me And My Drum, who created this badge said, “This badge is for bloggers who make their blogs their own, stay with it, interact with their readers, and have fun!”

Again, I'll bestow this later; I just wanted to catch up on acknowledging the receipt of said honors. Thank you all; I bow in humility.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday. Peace out, y'all, and Play Ball!

Congrats on your Wonder Woman Award. Speaking of WW, leave it to the city of Portland to have an annual Wonder Woman Day (Oct 29).

Oh pu-lease! You? A bad blogging buddy? If you're bad, then I'm absolutely horrific!!

Life does get in the way, but it's funny how we feel so badly for not being able to visit and comment as much as we'd like.

Oftentimes, (is that a word?) I visit, or read posts in the reader, but don't have a whole heck of a lot to say..... or I can't think of anything else to say that some other wonderful reader hasn't already said. So I just stay quiet :-)

I'm always thinking of all my blogging friends though, even when my comments have run dry :-)

I hear you about keeping up with the new posts. If I miss even one day I'm overwhelmed! Once when Bloglines was acting up, it said I had 2500 new posts to read! I almost had a heart attack!

Yeah, we tried going without Good Nights, but after a couple weeks I was sick of washing all the bedding every day!

Congrats on the blog bling. As for my reader...it rarely gets below 100. I just read as I can. No worries here. ;)

I'm going to start looking at it as a positive that I can't keep up with my blog rounds. It means that my community is expanding and I'm meeting many new blogging friends.

I just have to change my attitude and not feel badly if I don't make it to every site every day.
