Random Thoughts

First of all, my thanks to all of you who voted for me in Christine's Photo Contest. I probably won't win, but it was fun to see how many people liked the photo I picked, the one of my kids in this post.

Secondly, as you probably guessed by now, I'm trying my hand at different kinds of photography. That said, would you please, please, PLEASE add my photo blog (link here) in your blog readers (e.g., Google Reader, Bloglines, etc.) and give me some feedback on my photos? My thanks, in advance, for your consideration and comments.

Thirdly, I'm still feeling uninspired as far as posts for this blog. I have some rants, but I dare not post them lest some friends take them the wrong way; remember, I have sworn off sarcasm because when I use such communication device, everyone thinks I'm talking about them. I'm trying to be nothing but sweetness and light, which, if you know me at all by now, you can imagine how difficult this has been. I'm still a beyotch to my kids (bad Mom!), but I'm trying, I'm trying.

Sunday the 4th, Land Warrior and I will celebrate 17 years of marital bliss. How about that? Some said it would never last (well, okay, one person did...nanner, nanner, nanner!), but after almost 20 years together, 17 of them in a marital state of existence, we're still married. Huh.

Last but not least, there is a photo I forgot to post when I posted the photos from my trip to Indy (yes, I know I never wrote about the trip, but I forgot, and I figured you didn't care to hear a blow-by-blow of my trip a la last year anyway). So, here, for the benefit of Matt and Bond, I give you a photo from a place I can visit only when I return to Indiana or Ohio. Sorry, Vin, no side-by-side shake, but here is a classic single steakburger and a small order of cheese fries.

Later daze, y'all.

I like sarcasm. But it can be interpretted the wrong way in the written form!

Happy Anniversary!!

(Almost 20 years together here, too. I'm glad yours have been happier!)

I look forward to enjoying your photos :)

c'mon...do the play by play...

the steakburger looks yummy!

(in that wedding picture you look lovely...but...um...is Land Warrior wearing lipstick??? or did you just plant a big juicy one?)

Mmmmmmmmm. Steak and Shake. Happy Early Anniversary. Cheers!!

Kila: Yes, sarcasm does indeed get misinterpreted in the printed word; probably why the friends who seem most offended by what I've said in the past are reacting to a blog post and a cell phone text message.

Katherine: I'm not sure how interesting a play-by-play of my trip to Indy would be, but we certainly had fun. I'll have to make comments about the less-than-spectacular hotel where we stayed, though. Oh, and the cheesy red mustache my hubby used to have explains the "smoochy" look he has. Hubby was born a redhead; now he's mostly light brown with gray flecks. If we were to grow the mustache back, it would still be red, though.

Matt: We tried to get breakfast at Steak and Shake, per your suggestion, but they stopped serving that at 11:00 a.m., and we got there at 11:15!

What? How can you do a S&S stop and not have a side-by-side. I went out of my way last week to go get one for lunch...yummo

Sarcasm? You? nah!

Bond: I know, I'm a mean mom, not letting the kids have a milkshake at lunchtime, but we had a plane to catch, and I just didn't want to fuss with getting them sick on a milkshake. Usually I'm very indulgent, but this day I was anxious because we had to get to the airport.

Christine: Yes, I did receive honorable mention, and that's closer than I got in the last photo contest I entered, so booyah! Thanks for the anniversary wishes. As you know, it hasn't always been easy, but it's never been dull.

Sandee: I know what you mean about the hunger; I got hungry posting the photo!

Karmyn: I hope hubby and I DO have many more anniversaries. And of course you're craving cheese fries - you're pregnant!

Anndi: Ah, sarcasm - hard to speak without it, but it can get us in soooooo much trouble. Hope you had a wonderful time with your honey. Hubby and I actually almost forgot about our anniversary - we have no plans!

Kailani: We look very, very young in our wedding photo, that's for sure. We were 29 and 30 years old respectively, but we look like babies. I think everyone does on their wedding, regardless of their age.

Happy Almost Anniversary, that's awesome! Congrats and many more happy years to come :)

Wowzers, that burgers and cheese fries look awesome. Clogging, but delicious!

P.S. I'll try to catch up on my photo blogs soon... since I'm not doing Proj365 this year, I haven't stayed as up to date with them :(

I voted both days =)

And I can tell you are stifling the rant. You realize it is just gonna build up until you blow. And I have to ask, if you have "friends" who are so quick to assume the worst in what you say...are they really friends?
