If you are a regular reader of The Ice Box, you know that I have a wonderful relationship with my parents-in-law. I love them dearly, and I truly enjoy spending time with them. I would point out, however, that hubby and I do NOT spend time with them at their house during months of October through April. Because, frankly, we'd rather be here:
...than here (taken in December 2002, the LAST time we traveled as a family to Ohio in winter).

The kids look like they had a blast though!
Happy Monday.
Yeah, Ohio in wintertime isn't exactly a vacationer's paradise. Unless you like bone-chilling cold and snow. Then, you'll love it. ;-)
Ah heck...suck it up and let the kids build more snowmen/women will ya?
Well, I can't say I blame ya there, girlfriend...not in the least little bit. The kiddos look like they're having fun, though. :)
Manic Monday ~ Southern Snow
Desert in the winter and spring, Elsewhere for summer and fall. Following the sun and just visiting snow is a great idea.
yeah....but you can ski in flagstaff....right?
Argh! I live in Massachusetts, am shivering right now in my 60 degree house with a Raynaud's attack in my fingers after eating a freezing cold orange, and now I really am FREEZING! Thanks a lot! LOL
They are adorable!
Snow you say? We're getting freezing rain in the morning. I'm going to snuggle under the covers for a good long while.....
Ohio is getting slammed this winter. I don't blame you for being where you are.
We took the dogs for a walk today - it was 47 °rees; and I was quite happy (in my knit cap and gloves!).
I've never lived in snowy weather and don't know if I could handle it.
I just know that our summers (as you can appreciate!) are hotter than Hades and they get harder and harder for me to handle!
I'm much more comfortable in cooler weather.
~~~Blessings~~~
Speaking of snow, we had a little snow yesterday and maybe tomorrow too.
Jaxoma said....All those early years of walking to school in waisthigh snow is no longer appealing to me and thus I, too, no longer live in areas prone to lots of snow. Why! I even threw away my window scraper.
we have snow on the ground - and the temperature is suddenly above freezing after being 12 deg yesterday morning. Whoaaa.. a hit wave.
C'mon... everyone neeeds a little snow in their life. ha ha.
